Admissions

(352) 273-7990

The good news is that you have already submitted most of what you need for our office. There will be a much longer list of items for you to submit spanning spring – early summer for the Offices of Student Affairs and Medical Education, and some of you will have to submit documentation as well to main campus (University) Admissions and Financial Aid. However, you have plenty of time and we will walk you through that on these pages later.

For now here are a few things our office will need:

Final Transcript

Non-UF degree-earners: we need an official transcript indicating completion of at least a bachelor’s degree, or your highest degree earned beyond a bachelor’s prior to matriculation. Why do we need this if we have your AMCAS? AMCAS does not verify degrees earned and our office is responsible for verifying minimum educational credentials for matriculation.

We do not need a transcript from every institution attended unless you completed required coursework outside of your main institution and it is not already listed on your AMCAS. Prereqs completed at the time of AMCAS submission have already been assessed by our office. We also do not require dual-enrollment or transient coursework transcripts, as long as the coursework taken at these institutions is reflected on your bachelor’s degree transcript.

UF accepts electronic transcripts through FASTER, Parchment, National Student Clearing House, ScribbleSoft, e-Scrip Safe, Credential Solutions, SCOIR or Transcripts Plus. The email address for electronic transcripts is te@admissions.ufl.edu

US Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Our office is required to verify US Citizenship or Permanent Residency for all candidates we interview. You have probably already submitted this to us prior to interview, as requested in your interview confirmation email. If you have not yet done this, it is a firm condition of matriculation. We will accept copies of the following official documents: US birth certificate, green card, or Certificate of U.S. Naturalization. Please submit a scanned copy to us at med-admissions@ufl.edu.

Criminal Background Check

UF College of Medicine participates in the AAMC-facilitated Criminal Background Check Service administered by Certiphi. Beginning in January, each accepted candidate will receive an email from Certiphi directing him or her to log in to their website to authorize the background check. This authorization is only needed once, and the background check will then be sent to all medical programs who participate in the service and who accepted that candidate.

For more information, please see the Students Residents Page on aamc.org.
