GatorLink & Email Setup

Your Gatorlink email was automatically setup in the UF Webmail system when you created you gatorlink username/password at the time of application.

As a student in the College of Medicine, your Gatorlink email account will automatically be moved to another email system called UF Exchange. This migration to the Exchange system will occur before classes begin and does not require you to do anything. Because of this, you should periodically check both of the following locations for email until all accounts have been moved over to UF Exchange:

Note: We know that many of you will want to configure your devices before Orientation, and if you do, please wait until you see emails arriving in your UF Exchange inbox on the web. You may get many errors during setup if you do not wait.

There are multiple ways to view your UF Exchange and GatorLink emails. One way is to visit the GatorLink Webmail site. This does not require any software configuration and is particularly useful for accessing e-mail when you are out of town.

However, it is strongly encouraged that users view their email through an email client. The Microsoft Outlook software is designed specifically to work with UF Exchange, but there are many other email clients that work well with UF Exchange. The set up instructions can be found here. Microsoft Office is a free download for UF students: Office Download There will also be people to assist you during Orientation with setting up your devices.

If you need assistance configuring your email client, please contact your local IT support or the UF Computing Help Desk (352-392-HELP/4357, helpdesk@ufl.edu.)
